It's the subtleties they get away with. Just before the 40/20 at the ptb Saints markers were everywhere except square thanks to a good break through the line by Salford. The ref ignored it.



"Top 4 Refereeing" is at its best when it ignores situations that don't benefit the big guns. As ever with refereeing it's the decisions that aren't given against the "BIG" team that have far more influence than those that are. Especially when the same offences are pinged the other way.

I paricularly liked the VR freeze frame of not one, but two, Saints players using Ashley Gibson's head as a lever to prevent him scoring a try, followed by a 'no try - third tackle attack' decision.

Absolutely spot on mate. Some are worse at it than others - and Silverwood is one of the worst - but just about all the refs do it to some extent. Only to be expected considering who's in charge, mind.

Seriously Hull didn't get a penalty for half an hour after we went in front on Sunday. Saints are a better team than Salford and deserve to beat them. It doesn't alter the fact that the refereeing bias is in their favour.
