Taking the rumours out of the equation, if AP has made this decision based on results on the pitch then I'm not sure Gentle did enough this year to secure his position for another year as harsh as that may sound. I'm not saying I agree with this, I'm just offering a theory...



Okay, he got us to Wembley which is a great achievement and is a sign of progress but in terms of the league we are no better off than last year. In fact you could argue that we have gone slightly backwards as we finished with four less points. And the gap between our best and worst performances hasn't improved either. So whilst our CC run will have worked in Gentle's favour, the league and performances worked against him. When weighed up AP may have felt that not enough progress was made.

At the end of the day pearson has made his decision,rightly or wrongly and as he pays the bills its his right.There has to be a lot more to this situation than meets the eye,3 months ago there was an article I believe it was in the daily star saying pearson will be getting rid of gentle whatever happens and lo and behold he was right.Is he just a good guesser or was this situation cut and dried a while ago.Mcrae said there is a cancer at the club,was it gentle or is the cancer still there,all very cloak and dagger !

The cancer quote was from years ago I believe. Back when McRae was coach. Had nothing to do with Gentle.

The only cancer I can see is a small number of the so called 18th man.

Yes, I may not always agree with what happens at FC but I'll never give up supporting them.

Fair comment,I thought it was recent but the guy in the paper saying gentle was gone whatever happens seems odd.
