Knew it was happening but still a shock to see it

Just looked at the Threepenny stand and had a thought.......If it was allowed, and strict health and saftey laws were followed. (possibly the wearing of hardhats????) I wonder if we could apply to the council and get a load of us together to sing Old Faithful one last time. I'm sure it could be done and recorded to be put on a CD to be sold on for charity ('Life For A Kid' would be my choice) and even play the recording at the end of our home games at the KC.

Anyone wanna take on the council and ASK THE QUESTION????

I'm sure we could get a few hundred there to belt out a good recordable rendition of the oldest club anthem in the UK!

Oh yeah.......We'd have to raid the building sites and work vans for spare hard hats

I have fond memories of standing in there.Being born in Cleethorpes is not associated with following rugby.A workmate at the time was transferred over from Saltend and persuaded me to "come and watch a mans game" instead of football.

It was mid eighties,G.B. v France.

I got hooked on the game,although I confess to not going so much to watch the "Sharks"

I loved the atmosphere in that stand.

Same amount of terraces too.

BUT...................Wouldn't it be a good afternoon out. One last goodbye. I've always said its better to 'burn out than to fade away'.

Maybe if we said that a percentage of the charity money made from a recording of Old Faithful would be given to the Lib Dems petty cash tin then we could beef out a deal



It just seems a shame that the ghosts of that special place aint gonna 'fade away' with sore (but happy) ears !

Its all very sad, but you can not hold up progress and the Boulevard was well past it. I do have severe reservations on the way it has all been handled and the way the old ground was almost levelled with little defference to the fans.
