The place was never the same after they closed half of threepennys. Used to love the derbies and the ritualistic burning (In a wooden stand!) of scarves from idiot rovers fans who thought they were being clever by walking through the stand

henderson gill was great and actually used to encourage the abuse, i think the crowd became too fond of him to abuse him properly



thinking back, some of the racist abuse was shocking and the club would be severely hit nowadays, guess it was a sign of the times in society at the time that nothing was ever done about it

I used to love the abuse the referees used to get warming up with the touch judges in front of thre'penny, whitfield and the conolly sisters were always good for a laugh. I also remember buying a team photo (harkin,topliss,duke etc) as a kid out of the portacabin that was the clubshop in them days.
