Let's not let this turn in to a debate about how representative the forum is anyway, it's about Paul King, some people love him, some people don't like him, he's that kind of guy.



And besides, as far as I can tell, the poster you were supporting was simply saying that if King [iis[/i going, people should remember what he's done in the past and not take such a 'good riddance' attitude to him, i think that's fair enough.

My post was aimed at individuals rather than the masses.



I'm personally fed up with every Paul King thread being derailed by comments about his off the field activities that are based on pure rumour.



Whats more im surprised that the mods allow this without substance.

TBF I've seen the states he gets himself into for myself more than once (and that's not to mention the disciplinary issues he's had with the club). I can see why some people wish to defend him but it's not true to say that the basis for a lot of people's dislike of him is 'pure rumour'.

king isnt and wont go nower, he got 1 year left and think he will play alot in the reserves nxt year. and even if he did get paid off, he would retire.

and as for his drinking, its no were near what people make out.

I have never seen him in a state beause I don't go to the places where he socialises. Is there evidence this year of him getting himself into a state between matches? I ask because a few posters over this season, who are more likely to see him out on an evening than I am, have said that he has toned it down recently? If he has cut it down might he be being lambasted for past failings as well as being lauded for past glories?

Depends what you mean by evidence, I haven't taken photos but I've seen him in a bad way more than once this season. Even if he has 'toned it down' it's too little too late IMO.

No I meant - "has he been seen in a state?". I've heard this too often from too many sources to think that it is untrue.



So, like you, I think it's too late. Even though I've been happy with his recent performances I think he has had his chance (and his best days probably). If he were to stay he would have to be much more of a positive role model off the pitch and, unfortunately, I just can't see that happening. I would be sad to see him paid off because I've enjoyed watching him in a b&w shirt over the years but, with my head ruling my heart, I think it could be a very positive move for the club and a salutary message to the other players.
