There are some Hull fans on here who are delighted with the defeat. That's up to them they're fully entitled to their opinion and start silly threads if they want - whatever. I prefer to pick the positives out and our attack was better than in many parts last year. Defence is a massive worry and if it's not shored up quick we'll struggle.

Thought Lyne was excellent. Didn't let anyone past him. Whiting cost us a couple and Westerman was poor one on one against Newton. These are the players who carry the blame.

He was poor, stupid penalty cannot tackle, agree Westerman was poor...Houghton was outstanding.

Don't talk nonsense. The reason some of us react as we do is that it hurts to see our team in this situation. This blind faith that some of you have in a coach who is blatently not good enough is baffling to many of us.

Cut out the stupid penalties and it would have been a very different game.

Been going for the past 30 years, will hopefully go for at least 30 more. This is the most underachieving Hull team I've ever seen, the team of the early 90's didn't have half the talent, but they had heart. Still, if you're happy with that then you clearly have low standards - I expect better.

I actually thought he was a shadow of last year's player for much of the match, looked out on his feet. Quite a few lazy efforts from him a result. We need to rotate him this year IMO.

We have about the 6th best team on paper this year... we looked the 3rd worst team.
