You can't resist, can you, even when your post is totally irrelevant.

| I must admit I don't get where all this adulation for gentle comes from?? Admittedly it was better than this season but it got to the point last season where I actually started taking a book to read during the game I was that bored and as for Wembley the biggest most dissapointing day I've had as a fan. Pearson got it wrong with gentle and I still think he has it wrong with Radford but Pearson still gets my 100% support

Gentle wasn't the answer, but this time last year we we'd beaten Cas and Wire to make a Challenge Cup final, and were still in the hunt for the top6, which is hell of a lot better than 12th with the season having effectively ended weeks ago.

I wouldn't say adulation. There were definitely some question marks over him. What is strange, though, is the way Pearson seems happy to lay the blame of all our problems at his door to try and deflect from somebody currently doing a worse job than he did.

No adulation from me either. Think like myself people are just discussing the current state being worse than the previous seasons under Gentle whether he was right or wrong.
All the blame that seems to be getting laid at the door of Gentle by the club is poor form if I am honest but then AP has not covered himself in glory with certain aspects either so hardly a suprise. What does get me though is that if things were so terrible behind the scenes then why did the assistant not get the chop for being part of the set up also as he should also have been accountable for the failings.
Instead we plod along promoting failure.

| I love it when people say Pearson has put a lot of money in.. Does anyone have any evidence of this?
He's restructured yes, but I feel that he's cutting back in a lot of areas.
There are a few areas where he is massively underinvesting and, dare I say it on here, worse than the Hetherington's. Such as, merchandise/shop.
He may have the ambition but he needs to start delivering on his bold promises or his investment will vanish.
I still hope he becomes successful but I'm not sold on him yet, I'm still of the opinion were he saw a big club, in a sport he's not familiar with and thought he could make a quick profit..

I am surprised you should doubt that Pearson has invested money in the club. What "evidence" do you expect to see? Maybe you should look at the accounts. The club is making a loss and Pearson is having to keep putting his own money in to cover the losses. Getting knocked out of the cup at the first attempt will have cost him too.
You need to remember he is not as wealthy as Koukash or Davy.
He has definitely invested in many areas, not least training facilities and the academy set up. True he has cut back on administration/office staffing and I believe the first team coaching set up needs further investement.
He bought the club to make a profit. he saw a business which was being badly run. He thought he could turn it round, make it profitable and sell it for more than he paid for it. The failures on the pitch and the consequent reduced income from paying spectators now mean this will take longer than he thought and I'm sure he is aware of this.
He has made some bad decisions due to a combination of a lack of knowledge of RL, appointing the wrong people and listening to bad advice but no-one can question his past and ongoing financial committment.

Were you on water duty that day? - must have been a big occasion.
Nice to get some inside knowledge for a change - what was the game plan ?
A detailed summary will do.

Oh no no no, you need to prove to the contrary, I watched a team get into the right areas of the pitch time and again only to drop passes at critical points, some of that panic/nerves, some of it weather related. We actually threatened them quite a bit over the 80 but don't let your imperical understanding of the game get in the way of facts
I still thought we had a chance of winning it with 10-15 minutes to go and yet we didn't. A dry day and a bit less panic & I reckon we would have won it comfortably.
For me it wasn't an embaressment as many have banged on about since, yes the performance wasn't great by any stretch & I was massively dissapointed but embaressed..hardly.
We were a patched up side, no Lineham, Millar thrown in in desperation, losing Ellis on 14 minutes was a huge loss, gambling on Crooks is a tough choice all coaches have made (remember Senior in 2005!) a fullback with 7 games or so under his belt whom almost got us right back into it.
But let's see you put to right were we went wrong in our game plan aside from the main aspect of dropping the passes time and again...

Thinking about it you're right - it was a real triumph for Hull FC that day.
