So would I. One of the most exciting players in the SL, definitely in our team. He has pure quality and well over 100 SL games, all at the age of 22. |

I agree, Wing is a 'luxury' position, the finishing touches to a team that already has strong halves, hooker, full back and pack.
Tom's a great player, but we can't throw stupid money in to keeping him when we still don't have a quality no7 after all these years. |

Hull have spent too much money on over priced injury prone Aussies and Shaun Longs to try and fix their half back problems over the years and its back fired. Gareth Ellis could be another example of an injury prone player who's best days are behind him, dispute what he says Leeds would have offered him a lot lower short term contract and he goes to hull for the money and the longer term contract, like Adrian Morley did at Wire. The wire gamble paid off but will the Hull one ?'"
I totally agree with this, you make some very valid points mate, good post. |

I was thinking last night, and I can't recall having a real quality 7 at any point we've played at the KC, am I forgetting someone? |

It's a shame that another quality player is going to give the NRL a go.
We don't really have enough quality players in the SL but unfortunatly I saw this coming a mile away as it was obvious what would happen as soon as it became clear just how much cash the NRL clubs were going to have.

You can`t blame the kid for grabbing his big chance in the NRL. He has been outstanding for us and he can only get better over there. He has been loyal to us over the years, he could have gone before but decided to wait a while. We obviously need to look at our salary cap if we are going to hang onto our talented youngsters in future.

The problem is, you can't put a value in £/$'s of the opportunity for someone early-mid 20's with no huge family comittments to move to Australia, to do exactly what they're doing now, but where the weather is better, the game is bigger etc. etc.
To sort the salary cap out we need to drop to 12 sustainable teams, we need a governing body that can secure meaningful and valuable sponsorship, and we need Sky to give us something better than Eddie and Stevo commentating, we also need better officials and better run clubs. |
