Regarding the salary cap. Getting Championship clubs to vote for the reduction was bound to get a positive vote. The poorer supported clubs are always going to vote 'for' as it brings the better-off clubs down to their level by decreasing their player spend. Say Widnes had a turnover of £2M, then what are they supposed to do with the hundreds of thousands they can't spend on players ??

Don't think we would use it on the stadium.. it's only recently been updated to the tune of £1million pounds. Can't see it needing anything for quite a while yet. It's still one of the premier purpose built stadiums in the sport.

We're putting so much effort and time and money into this bid and does anyone else feel the "trustworthy" RFL will just in the end promote who the hell they feel like and disregard all this?

That's exactly what will happen. Forget all the criteria bollox, that only applies to heartland clubs anyway. They'll put in who they want, as they did last time.



I still think Widnes are in poll position and it will be very difficult for even the RFL to come up with an excuse to turn us down next time, if we carry on the way we are. We do need to remain competitive though, and another trophy next season should do the trick.
