| I heard from someone who has connections to the club that the club are interested in Cummings and Glen Morrison.
He told me this yesterday, so presumed Thornton had been sacked at the weekend until I saw the news on Twitter today.

| You may be able now to Dual reg some of our players at Hull FC.
Whatever you think of Dual reg it worked well for you when Paul Cooke was there.
Cant see you getting out of that division with that squad.

| I wait to be pleasantly surprised .....
After three years of mediocrity punctuated by flashes of hope for the Dons, I fear another Thornton will be hired in haste ... unnecessary haste.
The squad will still be the same and is on course for obscurity. They don't need much guidance to get there.
I presume all coaches worked with Thornton and are part of what the club has become.
We need an attacking coach coupled with a second in command dedicated to defence alone ... since this is our overriding weakness.
We don't need a coach that was a forward ... since they ate negheads like me.

Depends whether you want to watch Dewsbury type rugby ... I don't.
We have had good coaches from forwards in the past.
I wish Singe was still here.
I would rehire Cooke and treat him with respect and let him get a good side ... not bloody novices.
Is there another Daryl Powell out there?

| Cannot see Paul coming back but if he did he would be wiser & no doubt an even better coach.

| Lee Greenwood has done good thing with the All Golds in a short amount of time, with not a lot of money.
Problem with RL coaches is, you never know who is available or looking. So many coaches with any pedigree are now assistants at SL clubs where, I'd imagine, they get paid more and have a full time job. (Eaton, Kear, Cooke etc)

| If Paul Cooke did come back, it'd prove that the club have got a proper five year plan for Super League - with a budget to match, as he surely wouldn't come back for anything less. Sadly, the odds are probably very long against him coming back.

| seems Donny have to get someone in fast as the season can still be salvaged . I have watched a couple of dons home games this year and the dons have just seemed inconsistent and unable to put teams to bed. The "big money" forwards have turned up now and again but not really done a good enough job from what ive seen. its a question of who's out there for the money, someone with a connection to super league for loans or dual would now be a must as I think some new energy would good for the dons team. There's some good coaches out there doing it tough with the expansion sides with very little to spend on players and improving these teams , Oxford turned York over this year and had a better go at Toronto than the game I saw at Donny v toronto , also the same with skollars at the weekend who applied them selves better than the dons in the 2nd half. there's the aussie at thunder who as NRL connections or maybe a superleague assistant ?

| They must know who they want and the finance involved. I do hope they get it right this time and the appointment is not left to just one person to rubber stamp.
Talking of five year plans my personal choice for the club would be for Fecka to be at the club for this period in a playing capacity of course at first and if it fits his plans for to be kept on in some capacity. His experience and knowledge are attributes that the club does not possess in abundance (apart from the CEO) IMO.
Fingers crossed on this one because it really does matter.

| a coach who would commit to a long contract in order to take the club along at least the first 3 years that 5 year plan would probably be a good move but how many established names would commit to a league one club for the long term ? Maybe needs a coach who is on the rise, needs to be given a clear plan to get the dons out of the mire that is league 1 ! It must be an attractive vacancy for ambitious coaches, doncaster has the potential to be a big hitter
