Burns managed to follow up his short kicks and fly hack them on. The Keating chip late on was a real shocker though. Very poor thinking and it gave Salford the field position that might well have resulted in a winning drop goal.
Personally I agreed with the decision not to go for goal it was a long way out into a very strong wind and the sodden conditions giving unsure support for the non kicking foot. The most likely outcome would have been the kick falling short and giving Salford possession. Yes maybe it might just have crept over who knows but with 10 minutes still left it might not have won the game anyway.
Didn't Burns get criticised for taking a drop goal with less time remaining last week? He's the captain and correct me if I'm wrong but that makes him entitled to make on the pitch decisions.
Obviously it's disappointing to not win when we probably should have done but the conditions were terrible and the game was always going to be a slugfest. There were never going to be many points in this game because the conditions made defending easy and errors inevitable.
Point lost? Hardly I see we have moved up the table not down. The away point we got tonight is one more than Hull FC have got in the entire season.
