I agree, We are not the top side some believe us to be and shouldn't be disappointed losing away to Catalan.
It's a transition and will take time.

| Quote dum-dum="dum-dum"Maybe Catalan were under performing for us to go 12-6 up, got their half time butt bashing and came out and finished strong against an under prepared Rovers team that had been subject to the underhand French tactics with regards training that Justin Morgan often spoke of.
Sounded like the young lads stood up well, interesting to hear the views of those that travelled, Carlile got a game.'"
Understand the sentiment but underprepared? 12-6 up at half time. Maybe their coach gave a better speech I dont know but we were in a position to win and again fell short.

| The late penalties and fatigue later in games could be down to you not having a front row with big engines, Paea and Clinton don't do big minutes and you don't have a prop that can do 60 minutes. This is a big problem with there now only being 10 interchanges?

That pretty much sums it up.
The hope would be that O'Hara fills the gap and keeps a bit of kick on the pitch when either Clinton or Paea go off, The younger lads will only get better but until then we need to put games behind teams whilst we have the big men on, The return of Green, Hodgson & Galea should make this more possible.

| Were we ever going to win tonight?
Didn't listen or watch but we didn't get humped, could have been a lot worse.

| Sounded "in it" for a long period of the game and I didn't think the game would come to a point where Catalan opt to kick for 2 rather than run it, twice.

Not at all. However like many I'm upset that we get the scoreline to 6-12 in our favour and then for 25 mins do our damnnest to let Catalan get free metres by piggybacking them up field with soft penalties like laying on and stripping the ball out. That is unacceptable and has been the story of our season so far.

Seen as it's being mentioned are they as vital as us having
Ben Galea, Blake Green, David Hodgson, Craig Hall, Jake Webster, Ryan O'Hara & Scott Taylor missing? All 7 of those would be in our 17, Whilst 5 would have played the full 80 minutes tonight.
Not in the same league as our injuries.

No I didn't, their injury "problems" are none existent and a 17-man squad picked from Blanch, Pryce, Bosc, Dureau, Ferriol, Casty, Mounis, Raguin, Baile, Pelissier, Gossard, Millard, Simon, Fakir, Paea, Baitieri, Duport, Fisher, Cardace, would push most full strength teams in SL.
We, Rovers, are far from full strength in most positions and this is not only due to injuries.

| It's been a tough start to the season. In fairness though, only Bradford was a genuinely disappointing result and they look to be getting their poop together again, a little at least. Somebody said our backs aren't good enough, but when you're without your stand-off and three quarters of your first choice three-quarters, you're not going to be firing on all cylinders. Salter making his debut is a little silver lining.
I actually found last night's results more sobering. The top teams look to have really kicked on, and right now I can't imagine us picking up many points from them. Puts extra pressure on fixtures against the rest.
Best to try and focus on the positives, I reckon. Some more winnable games and hopefully players returning to fitness in the next few weeks.

| Louis Anderson, Jamal Fakir, Cyrille Gossard, Clint Greenshields, Ian Henderson, Steve Menzies, Eloi Pelissier, Setaimata Sa, Frédéric Vaccari, Cyril Stacul
Those are the Catalan players who didn't play. Not sure which are injured. I'm guessing
Louis Anderson, Jamal Fakir, Clint Greenshields, Ian Henderson, Steve Menzies & Setaimata Sa would have definitely played if fit.
