matt as taken a substanial pay cut on the second year of his contract, before rumours start again, its to bring cost under control, well done matt,  see not all about money, its it the courier today, miicheal steel allso says the club are well in the black, a lot is to do with the salary cap aswell, good to see the club being up front about it

If you read the article it states that Michael Steele said we were to "bring costs under control" and to also comply with the salary cap, which was cut from £400,000 to £300,000 at the end of 2009, just months after several players signed new two year contracts, and that Halifax (probably along with Widnes and Barrow) were one of several clubs who operated with a dispensation from the Rugby Football League this year which will not be in place for next season. I believe that explains the reason for pay cuts. |

I thought Fax said they only spent 250k that season?  |

Total respect to Matt. I have criticized him in the past and now he rightly deserves praise for winning us the Grand Final and now takung a pay cut. Many would not have done that. Great to see people like Martin Hall, Matt Calland showing so much commitment to the club.
