| Can we get enough momentuim behind us before the CC is the big question??
tonight was arguably the best performance IMO for quite some time all be it against an obviously tired Tigers side ( no offence intended!! )
Watkins seemingly back to near his best, Bailey chipping in, Webby back doing his party pieces and even beep beep diving over and oh... THAT try!!!!
DARE we have confidence in our already written off team?? Dare we??
I've been one of McDermott's critics, but maybe... just maybe, he's turning a long corner.....??

| Confidence booster, yes.
Will we play that brand of rugby in the final? We wont be able to move in the final without there being a cherry & white (if you can call it that) jersey on our toes.

As much as I'm a fan, I'm not sure Bailey deserved a personal mention tonight!
After his early errors, Buderus was once again outstanding. It really is a pleasure to watch him play and hopefully he can put last years poor CC FInal dissplay behind him.
JJB was MOM by a country mile tonight and with Bedsy, Ablett Hall and Sinfield has consistently been very, very good in an average side all year

| As pleasing as anything tonight, was that for the second consecutive game at HQ in the league we have nilled our opposition, and we can take plenty of confidence from that, and with another decent win at Quins next week hopefully, we will go into the final, with form and momentum on our side, and when you're preparing to face Wigan that's all you can hope for.
But hey, who knows, it's Wembley, it's a Cup Final, and even superb side like Wigan can have an off day on the biggest of stages.
(as we well know from last year!)

in SL have we ever done that before?
i reckon we have a real chance in 2 weeks time. you listen to fans of other teams and they call us a team thats learnt to perform on the day. (hence our 3 in a row, or is that just jealousy?) but write us off are your peril......for both CC and GF.

I think that was our strongest line up last night and i'm pretty certain BM feels the same way. I wouldn't be to surprised to see Sinfield & Buderus rested next week, or depending on the score playing less minutes than usual. I'd definately keep Ali & McGuire in there, we need those two to be fully fit and in McGuire's case in particular he needs to build his confidence if possible to the levels of last year.
When McGuire is on form and confident he's a danger every time he touches the ball which is why many, me included think his best position is scrum half.

You mean the one where Phil Ford boots the ball towards the Wigan line in an open field chase, but kicks it so hard it landed in Bolton, Mal Reilly turns to Norman Smith and says "what did he do that for" in the most comedic style I've ever seen from Reilly...
Ah great days....
