| A lot of debate going on currently whether amateur rugby will move to Summer.
I know their are already Summer leagues as well as the Winter leagues but I'm when you guys think it should be played AS A WHOLE.
I know that some leagues will play summer and others winter but I'm wondering what you think.

Answer your own question by considering whether or not you would sooner pull on a cheap polyester shirt and a shiny pair of shorts and go outside in either July or February.

I don't want to answer my own question I want to see what others think.
I know what I'd rather do - Winter is hibernation time for me

Ok I'll put it another way.
You claim to be 'just a rugby fan'
As a rugby fan I'm assuming you like to go along and watch rugby from time to time.
Would you sooner go and watch it in freezing cold, possibly snowy February or potentially sunny and warm July?
Now what do you think the general consensus might be?

| I'd watch it all year round if possible.
I'd like to find out the general opinion as there are advantages and disadvantages with both so can you stop being awkward and let's leave it at that.

Well you can't.
Right.
Summer.
Playing any sort of outdoor sports in winter (apart from skiing, tobogganing and any other sport that involves snow, ice or being really cold) is a stupid idea.
And so is anyone else who thinks otherwise.

| This weekend's fixtures would have been played in the same glorious conditions had it been a winter season. With winter you get the best of both worlds. Nice lovely August/September coolness with mild, brighter April and May conditions tagged on the end.
November through March - Wear a coat, a hat, a scarf, and stop being so soft. A home made flask of tea, beats 4 over priced plastic cups of weak lager, anyway. Besides, the UK winter temperatures are not [ithat[/i bad relative to parts of North America, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe - it's all in your mind.

| Rock hard pitches which if it were winter and frozen the game would be cancelled and blowing bubbles through not being superfit like pros, leads me to go for winter. I did it for thirty years and if the modern pussies can't stand the cold they could try croquet.

| Well, with in-depth appreciation and understanding of the actual reasons many amateur clubs are looking to move to summer like those above, how can we go wrong?

Yes, because every individual thing that has ever happened in the world ever, has had a 100% consensus in support of it.

Here's a hint: "stop being so soft" doesn't quite address the issues.
HTH.

| After 2-3 seasons of summer, people will be questioning why on earth they did not change sooner and the idea of playing in winter will seem laughable.
