As comical as it was to watch him try to Marshall his team back into the semi final from the position of water carrier, should there be some kind of warning from the RFL for this? He was stood in the Wire line for several plays shouting orders and it happened several times.

A water carrier without any water

i posted similar on the warrington forum, how does he get away with it? he's literally in the line for minutes at a time, moving up with the line, calling out plays and instructions.



when we played them earlier in the season he was on for about 2/3 minutes just running across their line.

surely it's an unfair advantage?

he's still their main man even after retirement!

Thought he was going to try a 40 - 20 at one point , ah well

We had a problem a few years ago with "water carriers" being on the pitch for sometimes an entire set of 6 and obviously directing the attack.



But we seemed to have sorted it out in the last couple of years, so we shouldn't let it return. They're not kids teams, they don't need a coach on the pitch with them.

Think Wire did at that time !

He was exactly the same in the cup match against Leigh and i seem to remember the ref did tell him to get off at one point.

Deacon much the same in the first Wigan/Saints derby of the season.



If they can get away with it then why not.

A referee worth is salt, should have stopped the play, awarded Hull KR a penalty and shown him a red card.

Early 90's, in a game at Cas, Mick 'can't speyk' Morgan pushed it to the limit, think the ref warned him he'd be red carded if he stepped on to the pitch again. It was the first time I recall a water carrier behaving in this manner.

Very undignified imho

He was the same in the Leigh game too. Never seen anything like it. Was like under 8's when the coach is on the pitch with the kids talking them through every play.



I like Briers and I like Wire but it needs sorting. 30 second limit on the field unless there is an injury or the clock is stopped maybe? Can't have people on the pitch for an entire set of 6 directing play.



Also doesn't say much about Tony Smiths faith in Wire's half backs if he feels that he needs the water boy to go on and direct the attack.
