To be fair, MM. This thread has nothing to do with Rugby, apart from someone throwing Holroyd in. Even that isn't about Rugby.

Fracking involves toxic chemicals being lowered into kilometer-deep holes drilled in the ground to isolate gas and oil from shale. The toxic chemicals can then float into lakes and rivers or contaminate the ground. Also, fracking produces a disproportionate amount of waste, including radioactive water, which then has to be dumped somewhere.

To summarise - don't believe everything you read!

The Fracking debate is on the same lines as the anti-vaccination brigade. Lots and lots of misinformation, ignorance, and people who don't really know what they're talking about.

I was fairly neutral on the fracking debate, however seeing Michigan Red's stance has put me firmly on the side of the protestors.

I`m fully supporting the camp at Barton , I`ve been down to the camp 3 times.

Peel have given I Gas permission to look for shale gas on the land they own from Barton to the Wirral. I really don`t want a highly dubious industrial process being carried out in the area where I live.

Fair enough, buy a thicker quilt and some mittens, you are going to need em..

I have been down dropping stuff off for the protesters. I`m more than grateful for those camping out down on Barton Moss for doing such an excellent job of peaceful protest despite the best efforts of GMP TAU.
