They've been there for nearly a month now on and off, must be costing a fortune to keep them there, though the guy with the butty van is quids in during the week.

There's a lot of people who think they know a lot about fracking, but actually don't know much.



I've heard all about the 'terrible problems' it can cause, so actually went out to educate myself on the subject. Turns out that the science on the subject doesn't support the wild claims that float around the media. I'm more inclined to put my trust in science than the over-excited ramblings of professional protesters.

And given that the licence granted is only for exploratory drilling into and below the old coal measures and doesn't include any permissions for fracking it all seems a bit futile and puerile to me.

I have a friend who's recently moved to USA with his future wife and what he's told me about the problems over there with fracking I can't see how people are so calm about the subject, I mean being able to ignite your tap water and the pumping of uranium into the ground and as a result poisens the water table and surrounding land for upto 10 square mile isn't something to take lightly.
