Yes Bentham needs a medal, one for being so bent, you must have paid him well! there were two teams on there mate & we did loose some discipline in the end, but it is very hard to take when only one side is disciplined. Mr Bentham you were disgraceful!!! You won not because you played well but for the most disgraceful one sided refereeing I have seen for many a year.

PS I don't normally enter the debate about referees but tonight I have never felt so angry during a game.

Wouldnt normally reply to away support on our board but i assume you are talking tongue in cheek,in 30 years of watching rugby league at all levels i can honestly say i never seen a game where the penalties were so one sided of course he attempted to even it up towards the end but he even failed to do that.It seemed as though we were being punished for things that were just simply not given against saints because they were being good little boys all game!!!!Dont get me wrong at the moment you are simply better than us but dont care what you think that could have been a good game tonight but it was spoilt by Mr Bentham.



ps not telling you about our song but what i would say is that it was a good job one set of supporters were singing cos there was nowt coming from you lot.

C'mon Saddened! Even for you this thread is a bit rich! There were high shots from both sides and who was the first player to be binned? Our very own James Graham. It was a pretty awful match, thanks mainly to Saints rubbish ball control and some dire officiating. But to say that Salford lacked discipline while implying we didn't is well off the mark!

With the exception of two matches, we've been like that all season. The place was a morgue, except when Jammer kicked the ball out. We fired up for a bit then. But mostly we're tired of watching our side drop the ball needlessly.



Oh and I agree, Bentham is garbage.

Thanks Saint fan, thank you for your honest appraisal, I was not impressed by Saints tonight & thought you were there for the taking, A bit more balance from a referee we could have given you guys a closer game.

As Salford fans thats whats so frustrating saints were doing the same as us but nothing given against them, i have always said the small teams in the premier league dont get penalties at the stretford end, so for me until we are one of the so called big 6 we just have to put up with it. Just as a example the 2 times the linesman came on tonight the ref awarded a penalty to saints even though bentham saw nothing in either tackle, last week Kevin brown blatantly punched a salford player off the ball which the liner spotted he then went on the pitch only to be told by James child! to get off!!!!

It was actually 3 times the touch judges came on to correct Bentham. But they were right on all three and the game would have gone better if Bentham would have taken a bath and let them do it all.

Phil Kinsella did the commentary on Radio Manchester, and he was scathing in his appraisal of Benthams refereeing performance.



Kinsella is usually straight down the line, so I'm guessing that Bentham had a poor game.

1 out of the 3 maybe, but you dont get my point we are playing under different rules each week sometimes even in the same game the inconsistency at the moment is a absolute joke. Mr Bentham missed a forward pass last week that perhaps won the challenge cup and then the liner missing the fact the ball came off the wigan player before going into touch i mean these are basic basic errors,this particular referee should be relegated as he is nowhere near super league standard. I really feel for the reds players and coach tonight they gave it there all and i honestly believe saints were there for the taking and with a referee that was consistent you just never know.
