Those days are well gone , looking at Wigan & Hull's attempts ) Powell - Biggs , our cross code signing last year Jordan Davies is now back playing for Rotherham RU., Problem is - If they're good enough to make an impact in SL , they'll always be able to earn more in Rah rah and prolong their career being put out pasture in French club Rugby or Japan. |

Agreed, long gone are the days our clubs could throw a couple of hundred grand at a rugby union international back like, Jonathon Davies, Scott Gibbs or Alan Tait etc.
To be honest since SL went full time I would doubt many home nation union internationals would have anywhere near the impact they used to have. I think if you were looking for any kind of impact now you would have to be signing the very best union backs in Australasia or South Africa on a minimum million pound plus contract. |
