And yet praised by the same Police for our behaviour after the game. They spent the first half filming our group and the 2nd half filming Widnes fans in the far stand. Speaking to them after the game it's something that they'll be doing at all of Widnes big derby games this year. Whilst on the subject of trying to stir things up Andy it seems odd that you haven't brought up the incident during the 2nd half that led to the police ejecting a Wigan fan sat in another part of the stand from the ground. Drunken behaviour, throwing objects onto the pitch etc. Surely you must have seen it? Funnily enough a group of people who the other main sh,,it stirrer on here Bowtun Warrior is known to be friendly with?

It was merely a training exercise for the police like JimmyBirts said. However, there was a group of aound 10 Wigan fans behind the posts right at the bottom nowhere near the Brigantes that could hardly stand up, one was ejected for throwing objects on the pitch and the rest were up and down the steps all afternoon hugging people and in general making absoulute @rses of themselves. The lad that was ejected has been ejected before, he's a tool of the highest order and I dont know how he isn't banned from Wigan games as it is. He's the same tool that dressed as "borat" at Warrington away last year and nobody, apart from himself thought it was funny. It was quite embarrassing really.

I've seen the Police filming matches before, when Saints played at Wilderspool a few years ago I was chatting to one of the cameramen, he said they use it for a couple of things, mainly to show good crowd behaviour practices that RL Clubs have, and secondly to use in presentations showing the difference between different sports groups of supporters.



I would guess it's also used as bit of an archive in the event of trouble, but that rarely happens at RL these days so I doubt that is their main reason.

Had a good chat with one of the policemen at half time on the concourse, said it was routine and they would be doing it a quite a few games this season with different teams. As sadfish said, its happened quite a few times.
