Does anyone know, why a potential major invester pulled out after meeting the RFL.

No one knows - and it would be guesswork to suggest that it was anything the RFL said which made the decision.



Yes the decision came after the RFL meeting - but it could have been for any number of reasons and may not have anything to do with the club or the RFL - if he didn't want to do it, he didn't have to!

It is a shame that they pulled out but by pulling out they have shown that they can't be al that bothered about the club. We could be under a month away from extinction as a club and if the so called potential investors cared about the club they would put in the 500k themselves now instead of us fans trying our best to scrape the money needed together.

I can't see this guy whoever he is coming in to buy the club after going into administration like some are suggesting, he can have the club at a cut price now, surely it would be easier to get another franchise if we already have one, the general consensus is we will never get back in once we are out so why would he bother once we entered admin?

I really fear for our future as a club now, i can live with no Sl but no club is a different kettle of cabbages.

I would suppose he asked for guarentees which the RFL couldnt give - such as SL franchise etc...

Completely debt free and any new owner could set up basically from scratch. Your saying how cheap to buy but if mass debt it's not really plus any investor would rather 'invest' in the club rather than pay off past debts.



This is speaking from experience! Steve O'Connor has gone on record saying he would not of bought Widnes before admin as too much of a mess to clear up and debt to be handled. He took over after admin and has been able to spend his money on the club to great effect! Sorry but SL from 2012 is a pipe dream. Your bid is due in 3 months! But if go down with cleared debt, create a strong infasteucture and New Market comes off by bid time 2014 you could be in a much, much stronger position then you are now!

But if we go into admin then surely Newmarket will not happen?

Like it says on the official statement the investor was given assurances by the rfl. WHAT ASSURANCES?

Assurance that we are not a pet club so he should invest his cash in a team from the outer hebredes.

That we would not be getting a new franchise

Exactly how I see it; the business is completely dysfunctional and needs a total rebuild from the bottom up - the Championship is the place to do that, without the crazy demands of the SL cabal and unrealistic expectations of fans diverting attention from the job at hand.



We could emerge from this with a really good set-up, supporters trust and all.

But if we have nowhere to play and then Newmarket falls through then what?
