| I see he's in the squad of 19 - is he going to have some game time? He came to us with a big reputation and I don't see how he can be left out of the starting 17. With Aiton we should have, potentially, the best 9 partnership in SL.

Reputation should mean nothing. Woods has the job for now and seems to be determined to hold onto the shirt. Ellis will have to wait his turn and I'm as keen to see him play as the rest. Coaches decision.

| Ellis played in the reserves last night and did really well. Having said that Wood has taken his chance in the first team and so far has done nothing to warrant losing his place.
At least we are sticking to a policy of giving players a chance and if they do well then letting them keep their place, as opposed to previous seasons where players have just been picked on reputation at times.

| One second we're bleating that we aren't giving the young kids a chance and that we're signing players to block their path. However when we do give Kyle Wood a chance, a player who remember came through our scholarship programme, and is only 22, we want someone else in to replace him without doing anything to suggest he needs to be replaced. We have played 2 games and in both Kyle Wood has done nothing to suggest he shouldn't be in that starting 17. In fact both times he has come off the bench he has offered a spark not dissimilar to what Burrow did for Leeds last season, and no, after 2 games the two are not comparable, but you see my point. Players should be selected on any number of things but not solely reputation. Andy Ellis will get his chance, but right now he has no god given right to one.

Couldn't agree more - Woods has added a genuine creative spark in every game he's featured and for mine, deserves to be picked; Agar is giving a young kid his opportunity (shock horror) and he's grasping it with both hands.
Coaches call - looks like a good one.

| Ellis did well but went of injured, ankle I think, needed help off the field. Mariarno also went off with what looked like a bad leg injury.

Ouch - Big Frankie is not having a lot of luck so far this season; hasn't seemed himself since the pre-season friendlies.

Well, not being one of the people who cannot be pleased,( as you seem to think everybody who has an opinion is!) I am a great fan of Kyle Wood but in my opinion he is a born scrum half and I think from what I have seen so far he is more creative than Smith. If Ellis is injured now as a previous post suggests then there's an end to it for now!

was a bit off the pace for me last night considering playing 20's, but did really well for Parkins try, short side move on the last {powerplay} busted through and well timed pass.
Ellis provided some quick quality ball from PTB and got stuck in to the tackles, but his playmaking in open play was a little wayward IMO, probably would not need to do that in 1sts - maybe was told to take more responsibility or trying too hard for a start - who knows.

Yet another one who can give it but can't take it - this is a forum, the clue is in the name.
To give another opinion, if you think Woods is currently up there with Smith you need the old bumps feeling IMO.
He's only really played three games. He ran Cas ragged, won MOM against Widnes and has had a less effective game against HKR - yet somehow from that you manage to glean the idea that Woods is FAR MORE more creative - beggars belief IMHO.
Now let's be friends

The only thing I gave, oh mighty one, is my thoughts/opinion but you, I note from your previous posts, seem to declare war on anyone who puts their thoughts on here. If you don't like what I have posted then you have the choice to ignore it.
Stop being so bloody high and mighty and just think for a moment that some of the comments you have put on posts have been total crap as far as I am concerned but I respect other peoples opinions -even yours!
