Wakefield Trinity Wildcats can announce that Lopini Paea has left the club with immediate effect.



Chairman, Michael Carter stated 'We wish Lopini all the best for his new challenge in Australia. We hope he and his family enjoyed their time at Trinity. We now have a half quota spot available and are looking to find a replacement in the near future.'

What is a half quota spot.

Will we not get a fee?

Non quota, non federation trained I can only presume he means by saying half a quota spot.

I've heard that MC told the players that anyone who didn't want to play for the club should leave and so he did

Only a rumour and could be a case of Chinese whispers but if that's the case then it's disappointing to hear

Yes, MC started the rumour by saying it publicly. Fine, he wasn't happy. Not everyone can be happy in their current workplace. He wanted out. We wanted him out if that's what he wanted. Win-win, I guess.

I thought he was going to be great for us but he has hardly played so no big loss.

I wonder if the Hull Paea (brother?) going home gave him a nudge too.



Anderson, Scruton, Simon and Anna in is fine for me with Smith pitching in.

Shame i think he would have been good for us if he hadn't got injured. Never seemed to truely settle in England though.

He did come across as a bit of a plodder.

I'm really sorry to hear this. Wasn't it Paea who earlier this week spoke out in the Yorkshire Post about how players needed to show more commitment to the team? I wonder if going to the press has back fired on him?



Sorry to see him leave. He never really got a run of matches under his belt to show us what he can do. It would have been great to have him in form for later this year.

I was told that today at the ground by another supporter in my usual seats. Looks like he didn't want to stay...well I don't have to risk my final red card expulsion from the site expletives on him, do I?
