So is he staying now? With strong rumours BJB is about to sign on loan where does that leave Tansey? Surely Leeds won't let a really promising FB go without a promise of a first team spot.



If Berro plays centre we need another 9, could Tansey do this? Personally I don't think his defence is good enough to play 9.



The other stand out option is him playing 6/7 either as first choice or when the inevitable injuries to Horne or Long occur. There's no doubt he's one of the most creative players in the squad but looking at his error count from last season is he consistent enough to be leading the team around the park?

If the BJB rumour is true, then it makes sense to use Tansey as cover for 6/7/9, hopefully a full off season with Horne and Long can sort out any deficiencies in his game, his tackling/defense is a question if he is to play 9 regularly though, I agree.

It was confirmed last week that Tansey was going nowhere and that RA was looking for fullback options as cover for Tansey and so Tansey could cover other areas.

So the word is that Tansey is to stay as #1 but we're bringing in another #1 so that in the event of an injury Tansey can move from #1 to said position?

Or the club arent that confident that Tansey can get his head down and cut out the ill discipline and want cover, plus TBF I dont think he has been that solid at FB.

tansey has had a decent season.but this ill-discipline is a worry.bjp had a superb season at quins.

Tansey and Houghton to share 9 and then Tansey can move to the halves when needed. Sounds sensible.

So our half back cover for next season is this season's full back? Sounds like a recipe for a successful year when our 1st choice half backs get injured again. And who thinks tansey could actually play in the halfs? I've seen nothing to suggest he has the skills required. He's too much of an off the cuff maverick for me and makes far too many errors

He moved in to the halves for attacking, and dropped back to fb for defence.

I agree Jake, he would be better at hooker. Personally I think he is a better fulback than BJB.

And so it starts again. Talented player given utility role in squad and never full fills full potential. I think we have been there before.



If and I appreciate its a big if, if Agar thinks we might not get the best out of Tansey for discipline reasons then he has to go. If he feels that Tansey has turned a corner off the field then he has to stay as FB in order to start to flourish in that role.
