This is probably one for Mild Rover. Where do we stand on the quota/non fed list with the confirmed signings and probable additions of Mcdonnell and Paea?

Quota - Galea, Webster, Dobson, Green, 1 slot free (not especially useful)



Non-fed - McDonnell, Taulapapa, Paea, Dobson, Green.



Which leaves no room for Clinton on the non-fed list.

O'Hara and Withers are exempt, coming from Crusaders. Lovegrove also counts on neither list (uk passport and a dispensation).

According to Mike Smith on Humberside last night we are still looking overseas and had received 2 CV's yesterday morning from players. (assuming the interview was actually given yesterday).

Presumably the Mcdonnell deal was done at this point so Rovers must think we have room another player?

Perhaps. However, on the flip side we will have a lot more homegrown players in the squad.

As far as I know Paea hasn't been confirmed yet and until he is you have one Quota and one Non-Fed spot open.

A fed-trained overseas-based player? Burgess or Ellis? Unlikely.



Galea's Maltese passport turning up wouldn't matter because it is fed-trained places we are short of.



A surprise departure? All the non-fed 5 have recently signed deals.

I think Galea counts as Federation trained for the same reason that Vella and Fisher did, this is due to the fact they signed before the present rule was introduced

At the moment if you include Paea and Clinton it stands at 11, don't you think thats a bit excessive ? I am not happy we will probably have 7, no wonder our national team is rubbish. The RFL should never have added dispensation for the Crusaders players.

That's probably why he doesn't appear on MR's list of quota and non-fed players.

Absolutely, I was hoping we would be reducing the overseas players, ok it might mean a lean season or two, but if our new coach is as good with youth as they say, it should pay dividends.
