Why was the other thread locked?



I read why it was locked but reading through the thread a lot of what was stated ie. the letter from the council, the accounts, are all things that are available for anyone to see.



It is a legitimate debate and if the thread needs moderating then any posts that break the AUP should be edited and with a reason why they have been edited. Locking the thread is just downright daft.



It should be remembered that this is not an official Halifax RLFC message board.

my initial thread on this topic was removed yesterday.It was

a genuine rugby fan asking if other fax fans had concerns about this

debt.instead the mods allowed town fans to hi-jack other threads

to get there point across.makes no sense to me.

I completely agree.



What were the libelous posts?

I must add Im in no way supporting the Town fans on this and gave what I thought was a valid explanation of why we would be in rent arrears. I just think rather than just going the whole hog and locking the thread it should be read through and any posts edited that are way out of line.



I have had another browse through and cant say there is that much that would need that doing. By locking that thread it gives the Town trolls ammunition to make the actions of one person speak for the club.

Presumably the libelous posts have been deleted. If not, locking the thread doesn't make them any less libelous.

Ive just had a read of the Town forum and all I can say is I hope not a lot of them work because the damage that they would be doing to the economy by been employed by someone could be a disaster.



To be fair it would be a lot to expect of some of them to have any idea how an actual business works.



I cant wait to see their little faces when the deal for the Shay goes through.

The mods act with RLFans best interests not the clubs. This site cant be held responsible just in case something is taken as libellous. You would be surprised what happens about forums and libel comments.

So would it make more sense to simply delete those comments and warn the users rather than lock an entire thread? Although im still not sure which parts of that thread are libellous as the accounts and letter are genuine and anybody could have got that information.

So have you deleted any posts or just locked the thread ?
